Al-Farabi Kazakh National University alumni have gifted modern lecture rooms to the university

As part of the large-scale celebration of Alumni Day, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University’s Faculty of Law hosted opening ceremonies for the renovated Lecture Room 301, named "Class of 1981", and Lecture Hall 4, named "Class of 1996".

The renovation project for Lecture Room 301 was made possible through the support of alumni celebrating the 45th anniversary of their graduation. Among them are prominent state and public figures – Kairat Mami, Musabek Alimbekov, Zagipa Baliyeva, and other professionals who have made invaluable contributions to the development of Kazakhstan's legal system.

Speaking at the ceremony, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU, emphasized the special significance of preserving university traditions. The head of the university highlighted that while technologies and curricula evolve over the years, the living connection between alumni and their alma mater remains unshakeable when fueled by sincere gratitude. According to him, establishing a modern material and technical base through the efforts of former students is the best example of public service.

"The renovated Classroom 301 will become a place where new generations of students will learn. It will host lectures, spark discussions, foster the birth of first scientific ideas, and shape the future lawyers of Kazakhstan. Therefore, it is highly symbolic that it is the alumni who are creating a space for the youth – one filled with respect for knowledge, the profession, and university tradition," the Rector stressed, expressing his appreciation to the benefactors.

The day's program continued with the opening of Lecture Hall 4, prepared by the Class of 1996, whose contribution also marked a significant step forward in modernizing the faculty's infrastructure.

The alumni also visited the Alley near Dormitory No. 9 and the Al-Farabi monument, laying flowers as a sign of respect to the great scholar whose name the university bears.

Alumni from various graduating years also spoke at the event to congratulate the attendees on this milestone – Kairat Mami, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Farabi KazNU; Darkhan Nurpeissov, Banking Ombudsman of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Gulmira Nurakhmetova, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Professor, and Deputy Head of the Department of Civil Law, Civil Procedure, and Labor Law at the KazNU Faculty of Law, along with others.

The celebration concluded with a grand concert and guided tours of nostalgic student spots and the KazNU campus, which is currently undergoing a rapid transformation into a world-class research university.
