Kazakhstan and China Develop Scientific Partnership

On September 2, a meeting was held between Acting Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek and a delegation from the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), led by Executive Executive Vice President of the Association He Junke, as reported by "Modern Education" magazine with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Kazakhstan Han Chunlin, Director of the Training and Human Resources Center of the China Association for Science and Technology Wang Shurui, and Executive Vice President of the Shaanxi Provincial Association for Science and Technology of the PRC Li Yuqi.


During the meeting, Sayasat Nurbek spoke about the key reforms implemented by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, aimed at further developing and strengthening the national system of higher education and science. Special attention was paid to the prospects of establishing an educational hub in Central Asia, which could become an important platform for expanding international educational and scientific cooperation.


The head of the Chinese delegation, in turn, presented the activities and key projects of the China Association for Science and Technology. CAST (China Association for Science and Technology) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that unites Chinese scientists and engineers. Currently, the association and its constituent organizations are members of more than 250 international scientific and technological organizations.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed promising areas of cooperation between the Ministry and CAST. In particular, they considered issues related to promoting academic exchanges, implementing joint projects in the scientific and technological sphere, as well as developing interaction in popularizing science, science education, and increasing the level of scientific literacy among the population.


Special attention was given to the possibilities of developing joint agreements in the field of scientific and humanitarian exchange and implementing initiatives aimed at strengthening professional and academic ties between scientists, researchers, and specialists of the two countries.


Sayasat Nurbek proposed exploring options for organizing cooperation in mutual scientific internships, artificial intelligence, the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, and the training of engineering personnel.
