Seifullin University Celebrated the 10th Anniversary of Kazakh-Chinese Cooperation in Agricultural Science

S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University (Seifullin University) hosted a solemn event dedicated to the 10th anniversary of cooperation between China's Northwest A&F University (NWAFU) and universities and research institutes of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of agricultural science and education.

The solemn opening ceremony was attended by Zhang Xiao, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Kazakhstan; Aikhan Sultan, Director of the Department of Agricultural Science and Education of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Bauyrzhan Asanov, Chairman of the Board of NJSC "NANGSEC"; Zhang Hongming, Vice President of China's Northwest A&F University; Seyitbek Kuanyshbayev, Chairman of the Board – Rector of A. Baitursynov Kostanay Regional University; Yerbol Issakayev, Chairman of the Board – Rector of M. Kozybayev North Kazakhstan University, as well as representatives of universities, research institutes, and partner organizations.
Kanat Tireuov, Chairman of the Board – Rector of Seifullin University, Academician of the NAS RK, Professor, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. He noted that over the ten years of partnership between Kazakhstani organizations and NWAFU, sustainable scientific and educational ties have been formed. The Rector emphasized that the further development of joint research, academic exchange, and training of young specialists is of particular importance for the agricultural sector.
Zhang Hongming, Vice President of China's Northwest A&F University, noted that this cooperation has become an important example of effective partnership between Kazakhstan and China in the field of agricultural science and education. According to him, joint projects within the framework of the "Belt and Road" initiative open up new opportunities for academic exchange, scientific research, and the implementation of innovative solutions in agriculture.
During the event, the participants summarized the results of the ten-year interaction and discussed prospects for further cooperation. Special attention was paid to joint research, academic mobility, educational programs, biotechnology, digital agriculture, sustainable development, and the training of young researchers.
One of the key events was the opening of the Kazakh-Chinese Education and Science Center. The new platform will contribute to the development of joint educational and research initiatives. The guests also visited the Agrotechnopark and an exhibition of scientific achievements of Seifullin University.
As part of the field program, the participants visited the A. I. Barayev Research and Production Center for Grain Farming, where a solemn ceremony dedicated to the launch of the sowing campaign took place. This emphasized the applied nature of the cooperation and the close connection between science, education, and agricultural production.
The anniversary event marked an important milestone in strengthening the Kazakh-Chinese scientific and educational partnership and defining new directions for cooperation for the next decade.
