The corresponding agreements were reached as part of developing academic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation with the Pomeranian University (Pomeranian Academy) in Słupsk, Republic of Poland. The new center will allow students to study the Polish language, gain a deeper understanding of Polish culture, and strengthen cultural ties between the two countries.

During the negotiations, a delegation led by Bolat Tlep, Chairman of the Board – Rector of Abai KazNPU, and Maksat Zhakau, Vice-Rector for Social Development, held a meeting with Zbigniew Osadowski, Rector of the Pomeranian University.
The parties discussed expanding academic mobility, implementing joint scientific projects, and developing the exchange of experience in the field of education. Following the meeting, both sides confirmed their interest in further strengthening the partnership between the two universities.
Cooperation between the universities has been developing since 2012. An official cooperation agreement was signed in 2015, and over the past years, more than 200 undergraduate, graduate, and PhD students from Abai University have completed studies and internships at the Pomeranian University.
One of the key areas of interaction is the dual-degree program. Since 2017, the universities have been implementing a joint dual-degree program at the bachelor's and master's levels. To date, students have been awarded 28 European-standard diplomas, and another 5 students will complete their studies in the current academic year.
Moving forward, the parties plan to expand cooperation by launching new dual-degree programs in biology, geography, pedagogy, art education, musical arts, and physics. The plans also include developing joint scientific research, co-supervising PhD students, and collaborating within the framework of the Erasmus+ program.
