"Study in Kazakhstan" in Indonesia

On June 14–15, the city of Jakarta (Republic of Indonesia) hosted, for the first time, the "Study in Kazakhstan" educational exhibition and the First Forum of Higher and Postgraduate Education Organizations of Kazakhstan and Indonesia. The events were organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Indonesia and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The holding of the exhibition and the forum marked an important milestone in further strengthening bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Indonesia in the field of higher and postgraduate education. Furthermore, these events served as an effective platform for promoting the higher education system of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the international level, expanding academic ties, and deepening institutional partnerships between the educational organizations of the two countries.


The events, aimed at developing academic mobility, expanding joint educational and scientific initiatives, and strengthening humanitarian ties between Kazakhstan and Indonesia, were attended by Serzhan Abdykarimov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Indonesia; Mohamad Fadjroel Rachman, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Kazakhstan; as well as leaders of higher and postgraduate education organizations and other educational institutions from Kazakhstan and Indonesia.

The Kazakh side was represented by delegations from 11 higher education institutions, which presented their educational programs, scientific and educational potential, and directions for developing international cooperation. From the Indonesian side, representatives from about 20 universities participated, which indicates the high interest of the Indonesian academic community in expanding cooperation with Kazakhstani universities.


Within the framework of the exhibition and the forum, bilateral meetings were held between the heads of higher education institutions from the two countries. During the negotiations, issues were discussed regarding the development of academic partnerships, the implementation of joint educational programs, the expansion of research cooperation, and the exchange of students and faculty members.

As a result of the events, a number of cooperation documents were signed between leading higher education institutions of Kazakhstan and Indonesia, aimed at strengthening long-term academic partnerships, developing institutional ties, and implementing joint educational and scientific initiatives.


The agreements reached testify to the strengthening of mutual trust and partnership between Kazakhstan and Indonesia in the field of higher education and create a solid foundation for further deepening strategic cooperation in higher and postgraduate education, science, academic mobility, and personnel training.
